Fête anni Lola avec les copains

Aujourd'hui Lola fête son anniversaire avec ses copains. Activités en plein air: jeux des statues au son du djembé sénégalais, piñata mexicaine remplie de bonbons, parcours d'adresse... tout le monde s'amuse bien!

Today, Lola is celebrating her birthday with her friends. Outdoors activities are planned: statue's game with the sound of the senegalese djembe, mexican piñata filled with candies and an obstacle race... everybody is having fun.

Après tout cela, un bon goûter s'impose! Miam, on se régale! Lola a passé un très bon moment et a été bien gâtée!

After all this exercice, the cake is very welcomed! Yummy, this is good! Lola has spent a beautiful moment and has been very spoiled!

Dernière soirée à N'gaparou!

Nous voici arrivés au terme de notre voyage. Nous en garderons de magnifiques souvenirs. La soirée chez Jan Balla est superbe. Excellent repas, vue grandiose sur la mer et magnifique coucher de soleil! Merci beaucoup à Roland et Lisette de nous avoir fait découvrir se beau pays!
Here we are, the last evening in N'gaparou. We will always keep beautiful memories of this trip. The evening at the restaurant Jan Balla is great. Delicious food, beautiful view of the sea and an amazing sunset! Thank you to Roland and Lisette for letting us discover this beautiful country!

Un marché typique!

Visite d'un grand marché local. Les couleurs sont belles. Viandes pendues et vente d'animaux, âmes sensibles s'abstenir!
We are visiting a local market. The colours are beautiful. Well, the exposed meat and the animal's market shouldn't be for sensitive eyes to see!!!

Ballade en dromadaire/ Lompoul

Bonjour bonjour! La nuit était un peu fraîche et les matelas dur. Heureusement Alaïs avait son confortable lit de voyage!
Good morning! Well the night was a little cold and the matresses very hard. Fortunately Alaïs could sleep in her travelling bed!


Au programme aujourd'hui, une ballade à dos de dromadaire! Leur marche berce et Alaïs en profite pour faire une petite sieste!!
Today we are having a ballad on a dromedary's back! Their walk is balancing us and Alaïs is taking advantage of a nice little nap!


Avant de se remettre en route, nous nous installons et attendons notre repas préparé par Mati. Bon, il ne faut pas être pressé en Afrique... un homme a été chercher du poisson à quelques kilomètres de là! Donc pour passer le temps, histoires et repos! Finalement nous mangeons et c'est toujours excellent!
Before leaving the place we are waiting for Mati's lunch. Well we need a lot of patience in Africa... a man was sent to buy some fish a few kilometers away! So while we are waiting, Lisette is reading stories and we are resting. Finally our lunch is ready and it is delicious as usual!

Lompoul

Nous nous arrêtons chez Mati qui est en train de préparer un délicieux repas. Ensuite elle nous suivra pour être notre cuisinière attitrée au campement de Lompoul!
We are at Mati's house who is preparing a delicious meal for us. Then she will follow us to Lompoul's camp and will be our cooker for 2 days!


Nous voici arrivés à Lompoul. C'est magnifique de voir ces dunes de sable! On s'y sent bien, c'est très reposant! Nous dormirons sous tente ce soir!
Here we are, in the middle of beautiful sand dunes at Lompoul's camp. It is beautiful, we feel good and the atmosphere is very restful. Tonight we will sleep in a tent!

Bon anniversaire Lola, c'est la Youza!

JOYEUX ANNIVERSAIRE LOLA, 5 ANS DEJA!!! Alors pour fêter cet événement, comme on dit ici, on va faire la Youza!!!! On invite la famille de Momodou, on prépare un excellent repas et on écoute et on danse sur la musique de l'orchestre local! C'est super! Lola reçoit un djembé!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY LOLA, 5 YEARS OLD ALREADY!!! To celebrate her we are having a big fiesta, or Youza! We invite Momodou's family, we prepare nice food and we listen and dance to the great music of the local band!! So nice! Lola gets a djembe!

La vie est belle à N'gaparou

Piscine, préparation d'un ragout de phacochère, conception du gâteau d'anniversaire de Lola pour le lendemain et grignotage de chips... la vie est belle quoi!
Swimming pool, preparation of wart hog meet for supper, cooking of Lola's birthday cake for tomorrow and eating chips... life is beautiful isn't it?

Baobab et Joal

Nous nous trouvons dans le tronc du plus grand baobab du Sénégal, nous a-t-on dit!!!!
Une multitude de chauve-souris se trouvent au-dessus de nos têtes. Selon les croyances, nous pouvons faire un voeu en touchant le tronc, celui de Régine s'est réalisé...
We are inside the biggest baobab's trunk of Senegal, so they told us!!! Above our heads are a lot of bats. According to the beliefs, we can make a wish while touching the trunk, Regine's wish has been fullfiled!


Arrêt dans le bourg de Joal où les Musulmans et Chrétiens vivent en très bonne harmonie. La preuve se trouve dans leur unique cimetière avec les tombes de chaque religion.
We are in Joal where Muslims and Christians live in perfect harmony. The proof is their unique cementery with both religion's graves.

Parc naturel de Sine Saloum/Mar Lodj

Nous sommes arrivés dans le Parc National du Sine Saloum et prenons une barque pour aller sur l'île de Mar Lodj.
We are in the National Park of Sine Saloum and we are taking a boat to Mar Lodj Island.


C'est l'aventure! Nous nous dirigeons vers l'île aux pêcheurs pour rencontrer les habitants et leur amener des présents comme du riz, des habits et des affaires pour l'école. Pour y aller, nous nous installons sur un char en bois tiré par un cheval!
A big adventure! We are going to the Fishers Island so we can meet the people living there. We are bringing them some rice, clothes and material for school. To go there we have to sit on a cart pulled by a horse!


Nous sommes évidemment très bien accueillis, et pour nous remercier de nos cadeaux, les villageois chantent et nous mènent dans la danse!
We are very well welcomed et to thank us for bringing them some gifts, they are singing and making us dance!


Et voici la petite école du village. Rien à voir avec nos écoles de riches en Suisse!!! Ceci est une bonne leçon de vie pour nous tous afin d'apprécier le confort que nous avons chez nous. Par contre, les gens sont bien plus chaleureux au Sénégal!
And here is the village school. Nothing like the schools we have in Switzerland!!! This is a good lesson of life for all of us to appreciate all the moderne and rich conveninences we have back home. On the other hand, people are much warmer here in Senegal!

Réserve de Bandia et resto baba cool!

Petit safari pour admirer de magnifiques animaux dans la Réserve de Bandia.

We can watch beautiful animals in the Bandia's Reserve.

Après la visite, pause repas dans un très chouette restaurant à la "Bob Marley". Les poissons et fruits de mer y sont délicieux et la vue est superbe!

After visiting the Reserve, we are having a delicious lunch in a restaurant decorated as the "Bob Marley" style... The fishes and seafood are very tasty and the view is beautiful.

Alaïs et Momodou

N'gaparou

Mission accomplie, charbon ramené à la maison pour les grillades!
Mission acomplished. The coal has been found and brought back to grill the meat!

N'gaparou- Chez Rama

Le changement est radical! Pour nous mettre tout de suite dans le bain, Roland et Lisette nous amènent chez Rama, qui nous a gentiment invité à goûter une spécialité sénégalaise. Nous mangeons à même le sol et partageons le même plat tous ensembles. C'est très convivial!
The change is enormous! Roland and Lisette are leading us to Rama, the wife of the driver. She kindly invites us to taste a typical senegal dish! We are eating on the floor and we are sharing the same big plate alltogether, it is very friendly!!

Départ pour le Sénégal

Nous voici à l'aéroport, prêts à faire un long voyage pour le Sénégal!
L'aventure commence...
